Happy (Really Belated) 7 Months...Early 8 Months Charlie!

So, as I said in a previous post...May was consumed by Disney preparing and such so I am a month late on posting an update on Charlie man. He is two days away from being 8 months old (WOW!). He is growing and learning everyday! I'm not sure what he weighs or how long he is since we haven't been to the Dr. since his 6 month check up. He is wearing size 2-3 diapers and just starting to grow out of 9 month clothes...though 12 months are a little big (I swear the sizing of baby clothes is crazy...he is average weight and height and has always been months ahead on sizing). We are still doing weekly physical therapy for his neck, although his neck is really doing great and he is turning and holding it straight up most of the time now. In therapy we are also working on a few gross motor skills that he is a little behind on.

He is sitting up really great and has recently started to stand up great when I'm holding him (I even let go for a second and he stood there all by himself for a brief second). He still hates (HATES) being on his tummy. Though when he is there he will reach and push with his legs so hopefully he will get strong enough to hold himself up and start crawling...I just have to keep forcing the issue. He doesn't really roll...well he has the rolling from tummy to back down pat haha, but refuses to roll back to tummy...he will get almost there and flip back on his back.

He has two teeth on the bottom now and I swear the next are on their way (please hurry up and get out already teeth!!!) because he is so drooly, biting, cranky, no sleeping good that usually means a tooth is on the way. He is still nursing about 5 times a day and eating three meals a day of baby food (oatmeal, various vegetables and fruits). So far he loves all types of baby food I've given him, except he doesn't really like prunes (who does??) and peaches. I tried giving him a small mashed up piece of fresh banana yesterday and he was not having it...he even gagged :)...maybe it's a texture thing...I have that problem too.

He is such a happy little guy. He smiles all the time and Mama and Daddy. He laughs sometimes at random things and then I try that again and he couldn't care less. He is starting to say da-da-da-da and ba-ba-ba-ba. No Mama yet. He also loves to blow raspberries!

He has gotten really grabby at anything and everything he can reach...hair, glasses, jewelry (esp. watches) remotes, phones, strings, paper, everything!!!

He has a lot of hair now and it's pretty light brown. His eyes are pretty much totally green now.

That's all I can think of right now...but here are a few pictures taken over the last month of our beautiful Charlie man!

Eating dinner...

Trey's brother, Ethan, is living with us this summer while he interns at the company Trey works for. So Charlie gets to play with Uncle Ethan a lot...
Here is Charlie sitting up playing with some of his "big boy toys" that we had upstairs.

When we were in Disney World we got Charlie a light up Mickey wand...he loves it!

This picture is entitled..."Charlie bit me...and it hurt".
Pretty boy...
"Can I have that??"
Playing with Uncle Ethan...
Playing with toys...

Last week our friends Mark and Amber Patrick came to visit us for a couple of days. Here is a couple pictures of Charlie "helping" Mark with a few work emails...

"Hmmm...what should we do about that one??"
"I don't know...what do you think Mark?"
A few pictures of breakfast...

"All gone Mama!!"
"Whoa...slippery fella!"
A few pictures of Charlie and Mama.

Here is a few pictures to prove...yes I do make him do tummy time and yes he does occasionally tolerate it long enough to play for a few seconds or take a few pictures.

"Hmm that's enough..."
I love this picture...
Here is a few in the jumper...
"Arrrrghh I'll get you, you crazy purple hippo!"

"What are you lookin at??"
Blowing raspberries...

Hahaha he will hate me for this picture some day...
"That's enough Daddy!"

So Trey turned him to the other side...
But, he wasn't having that either...
"Ahhh paci makes it all better!!"

Charlie's first swim!

Last Friday (June 4th) our good friends The Lovelace's came over so we could take Drew and Charlie on their first swim. We walked down to the neighborhood pool near our house. Here are a few pictures of the event...

Mommies getting the babies dressed...

While the Daddies blew up the floaties.

Once we got there we first took the boys to the baby pool area which went gradually up to one foot deep. Here is Drew and Charlie checking out the water.Drew seems to be interested...
They aren't sure what to think yet...
Drew seems to like it...
Hmmm Charlie not so much :)
Mama and Charlie.
The kiddie pool has these little fountains at the entrance. Here they are checking those out. Drew loved it and even stuck his face in it...

Hmmm Charlie...not so much...
Then I took Charlie into the "deeper" section...

But all he wanted to do was eat his feet...
Then we took the boys out in the "deep" big kids pool in their frog floaties...
Charlie laid back and relaxed in his...
"Hmm what is this??"
Overall, Drew really seemed to love it and we got some great pictures of him which I'm sure Melissa will post on her blog once she gets the cd of pictures from me tomorrow...but Charlie wasn't too into it. I will say it was almost Charlie's bed time at this point and he has been a little out of sorts lately with what I believe to be impending teeth on their way, so maybe next time.

We dried the boys off and headed back to the house...

Charlie was so sleepy...

Drew didn't seem to want to leave "What?? We're leaving??!!"
It was a lot of fun and we are so blessed to have great friends to share all of these fun experiences with!!

No I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth...

yes I realize it has been almost a month since I've blogged. The past month has consisted of preparing for, packing for, going on, and recooperating from our family Disney trip. It was awesome by the way. So, that along with friends visiting and a teething, very fussy, not sleeping well baby has led to a tired Mama. That being said, blogging has not been my priority. I promise I will try to make time one evening this week to blog a full update on Charlie man...until then I will leave you with a picture Trey took after Charlie's first swim (blog post to come)...
